Jessica,

We just returned from our Private Full-Day Unforgettable Tuscany and it was indeed unforgettable. Our driver and guide Matteo was very polite, informative, patient, talkative and funny. He is an excellent driver as well. We especially enjoyed our visit to the winery. Our host, Anna Rita Diegoli was very gracious and she gave us a very informative tour of her winery. Their salami and capocollo obtained from their pure bred Cinta Senese was awesome. We've been in Italy nine days and have been to Rome, Positano and now Florence. The meal that Anna Rita prepared for us was the best we've had so far. We also visited the Fattoria di Montecchio, the wine and olive oil were delicious and we had some shipped home. The tour host was very pleasant, informative and personable. We also visited Monteriggioni, Castellina and Fiesole, all very nice. We would recommend the tour to our friends, especially our host Mattao.

Thanks.
Ken, Maria and Ava A.

Dear Jessica,

We're now returned home from our visit to Florence and just wanted to write and let you know that we had a truly good day out on our private trip.  Please pass on our thanks to Euan and please also thank him for the hotel recommendation - it was excellent!

With thanks again,
Paula V.

Hello Jessica,

The Tour of Chianti was one of the most memorable trips that my girlfriend and I took. Our tour guide Euan was extremely informative. He made the trip so nice and relaxing. We started off on top of Florence taking in the whole city. Then we went to first vineyard where we had a nice private tour of the vineyard. We got to taste all the wines that that particular vineyard produced. It was amazing. We moved on to the second vineyard where we tasted more wine, olive oil, and balsamic dressing. Then after we wine tasted we enjoyed the best Tuscan meal that we had all trip. We would recommend this trip and Euan to anyone that wanted a nice informative relaxing trip. No stress just 100% comfort.

Thank you,
Scott L.

Dear Kristin,

One of our best memories of our trip to Tuscany is the day trip to San Gimignano and Siena. Euan, our guide, was there at the hotel promptly as scheduled. A rainy day with periods of dry was the weather order of the day. Euan took us first to a " lookout" area to see the great view of Florence  before heading off to Siena. He was both knowledgeable and very personable and went out of his way to make sure that in spite of sometimes rain we got a chance to see things. He suggested a delightful little ristorante in Siena for our lunch -- our only regret was that he was unable to join us. After lunch off to San Gimignano with a stop at another interesting little village. The day ended with being dropped off at the door of the hotel. I will certainly recommend the tour to any of our friends that may be heading to Tuscany.

Many thanks,
Don and Marilyn B.

Dear Jessica,

We certainly had a marvelous time in Italy and our day in Chianti with Maurizio was the highlight of our trip. All four of our group are involved in grade school, high school and/or college teaching and we all agreed that Maurizio is a natural teacher. For several days after our trip we were remembering aspects of the history and geography of the Chianti region due to Maurizio's organized and interesting manner of presenting Tuscany to us. We will certainly recommend this tour to all who plan to visit Italy. I just wish that my lunch tomorrow would be on that vine covered patio overlooking the vineyards.

Regards,
Andrew M.

Jessica:

We had a nice time in italy. We did enjoy the tour with Maurizio. Here is our feedback:

pros: Maurizio was knowledgeable and engaging. the geographic distance covered was well chosen and we were in the the heart of chianti country. the break in san gimignano was a great idea.

cons: Maurizio kept on repeating the same facts multiple times. we were shepherded to a "small" family winery - but the fact that there were 8-10 other guides there with their clients sort of put us off a bit. we felt like we were in disneyland...there were 5 people in our party - and only 2 of us really did any wine tasting. but we were charged fees for wine tasting for all 5 people, despite the fact that we spent over 200 euros on lunch and wine bottles at the place. this left a bad taste in our mouths. we would have preferred to go to a couple of smaller vineyards that were family owned, and not just one place which was clearly a tourist trap.

net net, we liked our tour, but there is room for improvement. we did not feel like it was worth $700.

Jessica,

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to write you back. It was quite difficult to get back to reality after being in Italy! First, I'd like to thank you for taking care of our trip at such a short notice. I had only found your website a few days before my trip and my friend and I really wanted to take the Chianti Tour. Thanks for making that happen!

Our guide, Euan picked us up right on time (in fact he was a bit early!). He was FANTASTIC!! He was very informative and had a laid back personality...perfect for our trip. We made a few short stops at some quaint spots (perfect for pictures!) then went to Greve. After a bit of shopping, we went to the wine store. The wine tasting store was so fun...we probably had more wine than needed at 11:30 in the morning!!! We asked Euan to join us for lunch because we were all having so much fun. From there we went to the Casa Emma vineyard where we learned how they take the grape and make it into a wine. It was just such a beautiful trip through the Chianti region with fantastic wines, and we even learned a little history!

I would have loved to take a few other trips ( Siena is next on my list!!)...but we ran out of time. I would recommend these tours to anyone who was going to Italy. It was especially perfect for two girls traveling by themselves who didn't want to rent a car! We were able to see much more of Tuscany than we would have without the tour. Thank you so much. It was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Italy! I look forward to doing business with you again next time I get out to Italy!

Ileana

Dear Kirill,

Thank you for your message. We had a very nice time on our trip to San Gimignano and Siena. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to enjoy Siena, which is so full of things to see. I think it would have been better to spend less time in San Gimignano (instead of having us meet the driver at noon, we could have done so at 11:30 and still enjoyed San Gimignano); and it would also have been better to have less of a lunch. We asked for a recommendation for lunch, and were directed to a restaurant that served (slowly!) a full 3-course meal, when we really only needed a sandwich or a pizza. That also wasted time that we could have spent viewing the city.

Hi Jessica,

We really had a wonderful time on our trip to Chianti. Our guide Euan was fantastic he was both informative and very personable. We particularly enjoyed Casa Emma and the tour of the winery and tasting given to us by Paolo. Additionally the stops in Castellina and Greve were very enjoyable as well. The only thing that could have been better was the stop for Lunch as the service was the poorest we received while in Italy, however the food was excellent when it finally did arrive. Additionally, the wine they had to offer was not nearly of the same quality of casa Emma. In summary we would highly recommend the day in Chianti trip to others as it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy.

Randall S.

Hi Jessica,

I was on this trip with Cathy Salvietti and I just wanted to add a comment about our tour "operator" - our driver for the day, Maurizio Bellini. The day turned out to be the hottest of our vacation - over 100 degrees Farenheit! The tour called for a couple of hours to be spent in each place. Well, none of us could imagine wandering around for that long in that oppressive heat! So, we sort of changed the day around a bit. Instead of just going to Cortona and Montepulciano, we went to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Monteriggiano and Greve! We ended up driving around in a huge circle, getting out of the car for only about 15 minutes at a time to explore the main street/piazza of each town, and had the greatest time! Maurizio was extremely flexible in agreeing to change our plans and we ended up getting back to our hotel the same time we would have had we not changed the itinerary. He took back roads where he could, and we had the most amazing tour of the Tuscany/Chianti countrysides! He was extremely personable and we really had a lot of fun with him! I hope these comments get back to his employer - he certainly deserves the compliment!

Hello,

My husband, parents-in-law, sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law had an absolutely amazing day with Euan for our Day in Chianti Wine Tour. The itinerary was pretty much exactly what we booked. The van was very nicely air conditioned, new and spacious. The places visited were beyond what we imagined. The butcher shop with the cheeses and salamis were out of this world. We even brought some back for our families at home to try. The Enoteca was so neat, the way you could taste so many different kinds of wine. Lunch was so delicious and beautiful, sitting outside on a Tuscan mountainside. The winery tours were so fabulous, especially Casa Emma!

What made our trip even more so enjoyable was our friendly guide Euan. He was extremely knowledgable about the area, the wines, the food, etc. We enjoyed our lunch, chatting about everything from Italian schools, to businesses, to squash. He asked us throughout the entire day, what we wanted to do, and we got to see so much! He even made an extra stop for us to get some fresh Italian fruit and pastas in the small town before we headed up to our hillside Villa. Thank you Euan! It was such a pleasure to meet you!

Thanks again In Italy! It was our first time in Italy, and we just loved it!

Dear Kirill,

Thank you for facilitating a wonderful and memorable trip to Italy. A bright experience was the two day trips that we took to Chianti one day and to San Gimignano & Siena the next. Our guide, Euan, made these two days the highlight of our Florence/Tuscany week. We marveled at the scenery, enjoyed all the local people we met and had some most delicious food and wine along the way. Euan was a delight to spend a day with, so knowledgeable about the area with such an easy going and accommodating personality, he set the tone for a blissful day in the country. We had a party of eight and the money we spent on these day trips was a bargain for two days of pure care free relaxation and fun.   Thanks initaly, for helping us thoroughly enjoy your beautiful country.

Dear Kristin,

We had a marvelous day in Chianti and it was the perfect ending to a perfect trip. Euan was fantastic and really was a joy to be with. He went above and beyond the call of duty to arrange for all of our wine to be sent together and avoid additional charges (the wine did arrive and we have plans to sample some this weekend with friends). We would highly recommend the tour and will certainly tell other about it. Thank you and tell Euan we have shared his story about saying "Donkey" for every American that visits and have laughed many times about it.

Dear Julie,

Our Day in the Chianti was very nice. Our driver (Maurizio) was punctual, well-spoken. He was willing to alter the schedule to fit our desires. We wanted to see the countryside, a couple of wineries, do some wine-tasting, and whatever else he thought we SHOULD see (our first trip to Italy).

We went to San Gimignano, saw the church there, and wondered through the town.

We did some wine-tasting at LeCantine di Greve in Chianti, which we enjoyed. Great opportunity to sample different wines and olive oils.

Went to Fattoria Montagliari where we sampled wines, olive oil and saw the processes in the winery. Had a fabulous lunch on the patio overlooking the countryside.

On our way back to Florence, we stopped at another winery, Casa Emma. Enjoyed seeing that winery, a bit more modernized than Montagliari, but we were the only ones in there and felt "obligated" to purchase some wine, even though we didn't particularly like it. But did enjoy talking with Fabrizio.

Our tour lasted longer than we expected (9:30-6:45). It was a lovely day and we were very glad we had the opportunity to see such beautiful scenery, with Maurizio giving us lots of history and cultural information. I would've enjoyed hearing more about the Italian people and their customs, rather than history (I'm not much of a history "buff"). And we were a bit surprised that the wine-tasting at Greve was not included in our price of 522 euros for 4 people. It was a very expensive day, after purchasing the wine-tasting cards, paying admission to the church, having a very expensive, but lovely, lunch and buying wine.

Overall, it was a great day which we enjoyed very much, although I feel that 522 euros was too high.

Dear Julie,

We had a lovely day with Maurizio when we went to San Gimignano and Siena we also had a very good lunch at Monteriggione and found Maurizio very interesting and entertaining. Thanks for arranging it.

Dear Jessica,

I want to say thank you for all your help booking my parent's trip with your company! My parents and aunt and uncle said that the "Day in the Chianti" was a highlight of their trip to Italy.  Unfortunately I can't remember his name, but they said that their guide was fantastic, that he went above and beyond their expectations.

Thank you so much for your help, and tell those that work for you that they are one in a million! We will recommend you to everyone that we know that is going to Italy!

Sincerely,

Erin S.

Jessica:

We had an amazing trip, and our tour with Elizabeth to Lucca and Pisa was wonderful. Besides the fact that Elizabeth is very personable, she is very knowledgeable about art and history and answered all of our questions and was great in answering the kids' questions on their level. We hooked up with Isa in Lucca who also gave us a very informative and lovely tour of all of the highlights of Lucca finishing with lunch at an outdoor restaurant. It was a great day, and we all learned a lot. I would love to visit Italy again and we will definitely use InItaly again for our touring needs! Thank you so much, especially on such short notice.

Jessica;

We were very pleased with our tour. Euan was very accommodating to our special requests to take the back roads and visit another small village (the name escapes me now) on the way to Siena. It was especially nice that Euan was able to drop us right in the center of each town and therefore we did not have to hike up the hill in the hot sun!! We enjoyed Euan's commentary
and his vehicle was very comfortable. He was very considerate when dropping us at the train station considering there was a transportation strike that day. Throughout the day he made calls to make sure our train was running. We have decided that when we return (we are definitely planning to) we will certainly take advantage of initaly.com. I would also like to mention that the transfers we booked for the airport and the cruise ship were wonderful. On time and very accommodating. Another reason to use initaly.com.

Sincerely,
Virginia P.

Dear Kirill,

Maurizio was very knowledgeable and provided interesting information and commentary throughout the drive. An advantage that we had not anticipated when arranging the trip was accessibility. Two of our group had ambulation problems. Maurizio's licenses permitted him greater (closer) access than we could ever have achieved had we tried to travel to San Gimignano or Siena on our own either driving ourselves or via public transportation. Both are very hilly venues, and the steep climbing would have prevented visits to significant sites, but Maurizio was able to drop us off and pick us up at positions that made our visits to the sites possible. He is very personable and answered our many questions about both the history and current economy of the region. All in all, a wonderful day.

Dear Cynthia,

Our trip to Florence was wonderful. Duomo Palace was more than we expected. We had a suite for 4 with two large rooms that were well appointed and the staff was very attentive. The location was directly across the street from The Duomo which put us in the heart of everything. We took a day trip to Chianti with Ewan as our guide and he is absolutely the best. He was very knowledgeable about the entire area and was a pleasure to be with. He took us to a Villa Monteoriole on the way to Chiant which was built by the family of Mona Lisa. The present owner of the Villa, Leonora was a wonderful host to my daughters and I. THe villa has been in her family for over 200 years. She gave us a complete tour of the grounds and a tasting of her home grown olive oil on fresh Tuscan bread. It was the best olive oil I have ever had and I left there with 3 liters of it! It was a wonderful addition to the trip and I would highly recommend it. She has 2 beautiful rooms she rents that overlook the tuscan hillsides, her olive groves and a pool. Although Nicccolini was great, the next time I am in the area I intend to stay here. I will certainly make any future plans to Italy through your site.

Thanks for a great trip,
Mark R.

Our trip in montelpulciano & pienza was absolutely in good hand. All of our members a few of them were first time in italy are highly impressive with the manificent tuscan towns and the foods are outstanding. The people were friendly and hospitable. The setting of the town perfectly harmonize with the natural beauty. We love the view of the tuscan rolling view and vine yards and the medival tiny village. We would like to express our sincere thanks to your kind arrangment. Everything is beyond our expection.

Dear Julie,

My biggest thing my husband and I loved with spending the day with Massimo. He took us on the "Day of Chianti". He was friendly and had great transportation. He really showed us a good time and our lunch was amazing. We went wine tasting and sampled some great cheese and meat. That is the best money I spent was to have him show us the countryside of Florence and I believe the gem that most people miss. He was very interesting and I can't describe in words what a great time we had. If you could let him know the Yaples say thank you that would be great.

Thanks for everything and hopefully I can use your resources again.

Blessings,
Catherine Y.

Hello Jessica:

Our trip to Florence could not have been better!!

The Chianti tour was PERFECT. Beautiful weather, the scenery was spectacular and our guide was such a nice man and so knowledgeable regarding the region, the wines, the area's history, etc. A highlight was the lunch at Giulietta's wonderful B&B in Panzano. My sister accurately summed up the experience by saying that in the future, when looking back on various travel experiences, the day of the Chianti tour would always be a standout - as nearly a perfect experience as you can get.

I have already recommended your website and services to friends and will continue to do so. I am so glad to have discovered Initaly - and I know my four travelling companions agree.

Thank you again,
Peg M.

Hi Jessica,

The tour was great! I recommend it to anyone who wants to see the real Tuscany. There was a moderate amount of walking and a health dose of drinking! If you don't drink, or don't like wine, DO NOT GO! We learned how balsamic vinegar is made and even tasted some 20 year old stuff over vanilla ice cream. We visited a butcher shop in Greve and tasted salami, cheese and olive oil. We had a great lunch at a farm that was one of many highlights of the day.

People need to understand that a tour like this cannot follow exactly the same path each time. Because we visited real farms, vineyards and towns, we had to be flexible enough to alter plans if something wasn't open on the specific day of the tour or if everyone was out in the fields (we were there at the opening of the harvest). Our guide got to know us well enough and had enough knowledge of the countryside to fill the day with great activities.

Ciao!
Jerry B.

Jessica,

Our last scheduled day in Florence was spent on a private tour of the Tuscany region. It was wonderful!!! Our guide really made the area come alive with history and background. Our stop in Greve in the morning was delightful, what great shops! Lunch was in the hill town of Monteriggioni and it was delicious. Being a native of Firenze is truly a benefit, I learned more about the area being with him for one day than I could read in any book or on any website!
