Conveniently located at the very heart of the ancient maritime Republic, this bright and airy apartment has views over the beautiful Byzantine façade of the cathedral, the ancient Moorish bell-tower and the ever-changing blue-green expanse of the Mediterranean seascape. It is ideal for those who do not wish to use a car during their stay. The size and shape of the rooms vary widely, but each is comfortable and clean, with cool tiled floors.
You reach the apartment by climbing 104 steps that wind their way through the charming ancient alleys of the town. Inside the front door, 14 more steps lead up to the 810-square-foot retreat, which is entered through a small corridor that leads to the kitchenette (mini-fridge and cooktop) and dining area. The adjoining open-plan sitting room has a TV, two built-in sofas, and sliding doors that open onto a small balcony with stunning views of the sea. A small window and two French doors also open onto another balcony on the other side of the room. The air-conditioned master bedroom, with its romantic canopy bed, also has French doors that open onto the same balcony, which has views of the town as well as the sea. Ten steps lead to a twin bedroom (the beds cannot be joined) with a window overlooking the cathedral and the Ziro tower. One large tiled bathroom with a good stall shower completes the accommodation of this lovely apartment.

There is no central heating, but space heaters are provided.
From Amalfi's main square, Piazzetta dei Dogi, which offers plentiful restaurants, greengrocers and shops, the apartment is reached by 104 steps through an ancient alley. In the building there is also an internal staircase of 14 steps to the entrance door.
The house is in the town center, where you will find all essentials (bars, shops, and post office). Regular bus service operates from nearby Flavio Gioia square to the other towns in the region: Ravello 5 km, Scala 5 km, Sorrento 35 km, Salerno 27 km, Positano 22 km, Naples Airport 60 km. In the summer, ferries and hydrofoils ply daily from Amalfi to Capri (1½ hour), Positano (20 minutes), Ischia (2½ hours) and Salerno (1 hour).
