Praiano is a peaceful and quaint village that looks as though a giant had scattered half a hundred pure white houses over a steep hill at the heart of the Amalfi coast. It is the ideal spot for visiting the whole area. Terrazza a Praiano, a spacious and sunny vacation home, is located in the higher part of the village. Although it is right in town, it seems a million miles from civilization, because there is no sound of traffic at all. Gazing out at the breathtaking sea view panoramas, you will soon forget whatever day-to-day cares you may have left behind. The comfortable, tastefully furnished home measures 1290 square feet and is spread over 2 floors. It offers all modern amenities, beautifully tiled modern bathrooms, and a state-of-the-art kitchen that will delight anyone with a passion for cooking. The spacious roof terrace whence the property derives its name is complemented by various balconies and a garden featuring a working pizza oven, all spaces that provide perfect spots to relax and enjoy al fresco meals.

From a tiny and quiet piazza in the heart of the village, you climb 54 steps (a mere pittance around these parts!) and enter into a small hallway that leads to a lovely dining area. Through an archway is the spacious sitting room, featuring an open fireplace, comfortable sofas, satellite TV, CD player, telephone, and doors to the lovely balcony, with its stunning view of the Praiano promontory. From the sitting room one enters the master bedroom with TV, doors onto the balcony and en suite bathroom with whirlpool bathtub.

On the opposite side of the living room is a spacious eat-in kitchen with large cooktop, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, American coffeemaker, and door onto the large flowering garden furnished for dining al fresco. From the entrance hall, a flight of stairs leads up to another queen bedroom with doors leading onto another terrace with sea view. This bedroom has an en suite bathroom with an oversize stall shower. Both bedrooms are air conditioned, there is wireless Internet access and central heating throughout, and the house also has a washing machine.

A very good general food shop is only minutes' walk from the house; bars and restaurants are within 15 minutes' walk, or can be reached using the convenient hourly public transport service. The pebble beach at Praia can be reached not only on foot in about thirty minutes, but also by car or, in the summer months, by public transport. Here you will also find several restaurants offering excellent local cuisine, boat hire service and a sub-aqua school. Positano is 7 km from the villa and in summertime, can also be reached by public transport service in order to avoid the problem of finding a parking space. Amalfi is 12 km, Ravello 16 km, Sorrento 18 km, Salerno 45 km, Naples airport 50 km, Rome Fiumicino 269 km.

You do not need a car to stay here, but between October and May it is a good idea because public transportation is very crowded.
