Siracusa Island Hotel Classic Fine Hotel - City-Center Hotel

Character: Four-star hotel with all services and amenities. Advantages: Great location for seeing everything in Siracusa and touring the area. Location: Half a block from Piazza del Duomo. All the historical sites and the many wonderful restaurants of Ortygia are within a 20-minute walk, and it's very easy to get to the front door by car. Once you're here, the only time you'll need a cab is to go to the Neapolis monuments, about a 15-minute ride away. Click here for a map. This brand new hotel boasts what is probably the best location in town: around the corner from the cathedral on Ortygia Island. Occupying a relatively small 19th-century palace, it is very pretty and extremely well thought out for the demanding world traveler, with just the right combination of history, artistry and gadgetry. We like the friendly young staff as much as the hotel and its location, too!

Rooms: 44 on five floors, including singles, doubles, triples, junior suites and deluxe doubles. The deluxe rooms have a sitting area with single sleep sofa, a private balcony, and a bathroom with tub, shower and foot massage (the bathtub in two of these rooms is a whirlpool). Some of the junior suites are on two floors and have a sitting area with single sleep sofa and bathroom below, plus a double bedroom and bathroom above; others have one bathroom and two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with two twin beds and a desk with computer and DSL connection. Many rooms on the third floor have views of the harbor; those on the fourth floor have wood-beam cathedral ceilings, walk-in closets, small private balconies, and excellent showers. All the balconies are 100% private because they have walls on all sides; thus they do not have views.         Features: All the rooms are furnished with simple but high-quality pieces and have wood or parquet floors. All have direct-dial telephone, satellite TV, pay TV, air conditioning, mini-bar and safe. All bathrooms have courtesy sets, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, terrycloth robe and slippers, and stall shower or bathtub. All rooms in the hotel are non-smoking.         Facilities: Elevator, Internet point and wireless access in the lobby, locked parking nearby (about 10 Euro/night), restaurant open daily, indoor and outdoor cocktail bars, small fitness room, sauna, shady inner courtyard, room service, airport shuttle (80 Euros each way for 1-3 people).

Not all rooms in the hotel can be reached by elevator. Some require one flight of stairs. Please let us know if you are unable to climb any stairs.
