Character: Classically Tuscan inn in the city with gorgeous countryside views.
Advantages: The location makes it one of the few places in Siena where you can tour the countryside by day and walk to dinner in the evening.
Location: On Via Enea Silvio Piccolomini, just down the street from Porta Romana, one of the ancient city gates. From here it is about a 10-minute walk to the Campo. What’s great about this location is that you can walk to everything, but you don’t have to deal with the terrible problem of where to park in Siena. Click here for a map.
Although beautiful medieval Siena is on everyone’s “must-see” list, it is surprisingly lacking in lodgings. Those that exist are generally way overpriced or woefully below our standards. There is one exception, and we are extremely proud to introduce it to our site. It meets all the requirements of the demanding In Italy Online reader: it is small, it occupies a historical 18th-century family villa, it is surrounded by a charming garden, managed by a friendly English-speaking staff, and set in a great location. |

22, including singles, doubles, triples and quads. The third and fourth beds in the triples and quads are on a sleep loft above the main bedroom. All the rooms are furnished in classic Tuscan style. Half of them face the quiet garden; the ones on the street have double-paned windows. There are two double/twin rooms overlooking the garden on the ground floor that can be connected.

Air conditioning, good satellite TV, DSL Internet access, safe, and mini-bar. All bathrooms are newly renovated and have courtesy sets, hair dryer and stall shower or bathtub with wall shower and splash screen.

Elevator, bar, paid parking (15 Euro/night - must be reserved at time of booking), beautiful garden and breakfast room in a glass conservatory or outside in warmer months. There is an Internet point about 300 yards from the hotel.
