Hotel San Moisè

The minute you step away from the Grand Canal, Venice becomes a land of mysteries and magic spells. Certainly the Venetians spend most of their time in the narrow alleys and covered porticoes that line the side canals, which are constantly plied by gondolas and the many kinds of boats that transport the essentials of daily life: fresh fruits and vegetables, household appliances, renovation supplies, clothing, toys, bicycles – not to mention the firemen, policemen and traffic cops! This is where life truly unfolds, and watching it is an experience you are not likely to forget soon. Many of the ancient homes in these parts of Venice harbor secret courtyards, such as the one at the heart of this delightful little hotel that occupies a 16th-century family home.

Location: In the St. Mark’s district, easy to find and only 5 minutes' walk from St. Mark's and the Fenice Theatre. Click here to see a map.
