We have known the owners of this delightful small hotel for many, many years. Their plant-filled haven is located in an authentic medieval building on a quiet cobblestone street just around the corner from the Uffizi Galleries and Piazza Signoria, literally a stone's throw from all the shopping and sightseeing that have made Florence the #1 Travel Destination in the World for 2007. All the renown may have brought myriad tourists to the Tuscan capital, but few of them will be found on this secret cul-de-sac, which still looks and feels much as it might have when Dante or Petrarch strolled here.

Location: One block from the Uffizi Galleries and the Arno River. Although this is strictly a pedestrian area and we do not recommend having a car in Florence, you can drive right up to the hotel to unload and load your baggage. After that, you'll walk to everything in 10-15 minutes. Click here to see a map.     Rooms: 23, including singles, doubles, triples and quads, all spotless and cheery, with tile floors and classic Tuscan furnishings. Quad rooms have one queen bed and two single beds. The eight superior rooms were more recently remodeled and are worth the extra 10 Euro/night. Each room has a private bath with stall shower or bathtub with handheld shower. Non-smoking rooms are available.     Features: Air conditioning, color satellite TV, direct-dial telephone with high-speed DSL connection, and mini-bar. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom.     Facilities: 24-hour front desk; Breakfast patio for warmer months; safe at the reception desk; wireless in the lobby; garage parking nearby at 30 Euro/night.
