Daniel's Hotel

This charming small hotel was inaugurated in late 2001. In the heart of the shopping district, it is only four blocks from the Spanish Steps. Its size gives it the feel of a family home, yet the owners have spared no expense to make it comfortable for even the most demanding travelers. The lovely guestrooms have every modern amenity, and the location simply cannot be beat. Having seen dozens and dozens of hotels in Rome, we truly think this one can't be beat, for its combination of location, elegance and top-notch amenities. Read on, please!

Location: On Via Frattina, one block from Via Condotti and around the corner from the Spanish Steps. Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon are a ten-minute walk away; the train station and St. Peter's are only a few minutes by subway, which stops five minutes from the hotel. Walk to absolutely everything in the centro storico. Click here to see a map.

Rooms: Only 14, including junior suites, doubles and one triple. The rooms occupy all five floors of the small building. They are brand new, larger than most Roman hotel rooms, carpeted, and furnished with good quality furniture and great mattresses. The double room for single use has a king sized bed, while standard doubles are big enough to have a couch and desk. Junior suites are very large, with a sitting area and flat-screen TV, plus a very large bathroom with double sinks, triangular whirlpool bathtub and terrycloth robes. Rooms on the rear are very quiet. The hotel has no connecting rooms (for families or friends), but some floors have only two rooms. There are some non-smoking rooms.

Features: All the rooms have double-glazed windows, pollen-filter air conditioning, direct-dial telephone with modem hook-up, mini-bar, satellite TV, and a private tile bathroom with shower, whirlpool bathtub, hair dryer, telephone, magnifying mirror, good make-up lights, and very nice courtesy set. Fresh fruit and flowers are changed in the rooms every day, and there is evening turn-down service

Facilities: Two elevators; excellent English breakfast with eggs and fresh pastries; breakfast room with BBC TV channel; rooftop terrace for breakfast, lunch and dinner with spectacular views (during colder months it is glassed-in); complimentary room service and daily newspaper; babysitting services; valet parking.
