This very unusual, brand-new boutique hotel is located just behind the Bargello Museum, in one of the nicest areas in central Florence. Of course, we all know that downtown Florence can be walked across in 20-30 minutes, so nothing is really out of the way, but there are locations and locations, as they say! This one is close to everything, in one of the oldest parts of the medieval city, where the same ancient stone buildings have been standing for centuries. The exterior setting makes the sleek modern interiors all the more dramatic, and the one-of-a-kind contemporary art pieces that decorate each room leave an even more lasting impression.

Location: On Via Ghibellina, very close to the Bargello, Piazza Signoria, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Galleries and the river. Click here to see a map.   Rooms: 25. All the rooms have teak parquet floors, crown moldings, leather and silk upholstery, good closets and drawers, and each has a private modern bathroom. Triple rooms have a queen or king bed plus a single sleep sofa. One junior suite has a soaring frescoed ceiling, stairs up to a bedroom big enough for four beds, and a bathroom with double shower. Non-smoking rooms are available.   Features: Every room has direct-dial telephone with modem connection, electronic safe, air conditioning, satellite plasma TV, luggage rack, full-length mirror and mini-bar. The bathrooms all have a stall shower with rainforest head, courtesy set and hair dryer. Junior suites have a double-size shower.   Facilities: Elevator, room service, breakfast room, roof terrace with views of the Duomo and Santa Croce, Internet point in the lobby and Internet cafe across the street, complimentary use of the gym, sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub, cocktail lounge with afternoon happy hour. It is pretty inconvenient to stay at this hotel with a car, but if you must, a garage is available next door for about 26 Euro/night.
